Chances are, you're just about packed for JASP. We've got a few reminders for you!
Bring your proof of COVID vaccinations. This is very important. We will be asking attendees for proof of COVID vaccinations and boosters at the JASP check-in desk when you arrive. Please bring your proof -- and remind your guests at the Regency mystery or the tea to bring theirs as well. At JASP, masks and social distancing will be encouraged but not required.
Get ready to shop. We have a great emporium lined up for you. Jane Austen Books, Timely Tresses and Cassandra's Closet will have a wide range of Jane Austen-related wares for you to browse. We'll also have JASP merchandise as well. And don't forget about our silent auction! Proceeds from the auction benefit our teacher scholarship program. Help us help teachers spread their love of Austen to students.
Looking for transportation options to/from the UNC campus? We'll have shuttle info at the JASP desk. Here's a few handy walking and public transit maps as well. For trips to and from the airport, the best options for transportation from the airport to the hotel are Lyft, Uber, or standard Taxis. There is a taxi stand outside both arrival terminals at Raleigh-Durham airport (RDU). We cannot arrange carpooling for you, but hope that some of you will be able to do so on your own, particularly on the return trip.
Check the weather. Summers in Carrboro often can mean heat advisories, steamy days and late afternoon rain or storms. Check the local weather -- and make like Captain Wentworth and get yourself an umbrella.
