City of Chapel Hill

 

Chapel Hill Public Transport 

  • Chapel Hill Transit routes and live updates can be found on the app “Next Bus” 

  • Suggested Bus Routes and Maps: 

    • For AC Hotel: A Route (every ~60 mins)

      • Best bus stop 1 min from hotel: West Rosemary Street at Pritchard Avenue Westbound

    • For Aloft Hotel: S Route or  A Route (every ~60 mins)

      • Best bus stop 2 mins from hotel:  Hamilton Road at Raleigh Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517

    • General Campus Transport: U Route Brochure / RU Route (every ~15 mins)

Chapel Hill Public Parking  

  • Parking lots near Franklin are about a 10- to 15-minute walk to Center Campus.

  •  $1.50/hour. No full-day options, only hourly.

  • Lots are open 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday (Sunday parking is free)

  • Best recommendations: 

    • 108 W Rosemary St, Chapel Hill, NC 27516

    • 100 E Rosemary St, Chapel Hill, NC 27514

    • 150 E Rosemary St, Chapel Hill, NC 27514

  • On-street parking

    • Walk times vary with location but similar to walk from the lots

    • $1.75 per hour ($2/hour 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.); payable by mobile phone.

    • 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday

  • If you plan to park on campus during JASP, you must fill out a request form (open through May 10).

  • Campus visitor parking (without a permit): is limited. A few options:

    • Morehead Planetarium lot: 250 E. Franklin St., Chapel Hill, NC 27514

    • Other options on the UNC Parking site.
