"Trouble no quiet, kind heart; leave sunny imaginations hope..."

A conclusion to our read-along blog series of Villette by Charlotte Brontë.

Welcome back, dearest Janeites, to the Austen-Brontë reader series.

Thank you for joining me as we explored Villette. After finishing our journey last week, we just couldn't conclude our time together without a final post and farewell. Below is a brief recap for those who were not able to join us.

Over the past three weeks I have covered Charlotte Brontë's thoughtful final novel, Villette. Every Friday, beginning the 23rd of August, I posted a digestible summary & reflection on one of the novel's three volumes.

This novel, her third and final novel to be published during her lifetime, is likened by many to her debut novel, Jane Eyre. It is interesting to note that Villette was also the first novel to be published under the name of Charlotte Brontë rather than the pseudonym of Currer Bell.

It was my first perusal of the novel, so readers were able to experience my first thoughts and impressions right alongside me. Now, once again, thank you for reading along with me. And rather than say farewell, dear readers, I will say, until the next.

Join us right here on the JASP blog as we foray into the Austen 250 Reader, an exciting new blog series currently focusing on Jane Austen's collection of youthful writing, her Juvenilia.
